Description
The Mares XR Stainless Steel 3mm Backplate is a rugged foundation for building a modular backplate-and-wing system for recreational, technical and twin-cylinder diving.
Constructed from 3mm 316-grade stainless steel, the backplate provides excellent strength and durability while adding approximately 2.5kg of integrated weight to the diver’s setup. Its pre-shaped design and bent lower edges help improve comfort while maintaining the rigidity required for demanding diving configurations.
The plate features 13 laser-cut webbing slots and 15 mounting holes, providing multiple options for harness positioning, accessories and cylinder configuration. Dedicated upper and lower slots allow a single cylinder to be secured directly using cam bands, while the central mounting points accommodate wings and twin-cylinder setups.
