Mares Epic ADJ 82X PVD Regulator

The Mares Epic ADJ 82X PVD Regulator is a cutting-edge scuba diving regulator that combines Mares' traditional advantages with the latest technological innovations and exclusive design. This regulator sets new standards in performance, reliability, and user experience.

The Epic ADJ 82X features a first stage with a 360° rotating turret, allowing for optimal hose and computer transmitter positioning. The unique design of the HP ports (OPD) ensures pre-orientation of the high-pressure hose and transmitter, regardless of the first stage's position, maximising comfort and convenience. The balanced membrane design of the 82X first stage delivers exceptional performance and reliability at any depth and supply pressure. Careful air flow optimisation enables natural DFC (Dynamic Flow Control), ensuring high airflow across all low-pressure ports.

The first stage incorporates the Auto-Sealing Technology (AST) anti-flooding system, which activates automatically with air flow. This system provides maximum reliability and keeps the first stage dry in all conditions, enhancing its durability. Crafted using a forging process, the first stage boasts a compact, lightweight, and attractive design, making the Epic ADJ 82X truly unique.

The second stage of the Epic ADJ 82X regulator represents the pinnacle of Mares' design and innovation. It incorporates advanced features to ensure superior performance and comfort. The VAD (Vortex Assisted Design) system optimises airflow by utilising the Venturi effect, directing 90% of the air into a side bypass. This design ensures maximum performance, even in challenging conditions such as cold water diving.

The Twin Power System allows divers to control the airflow of the VAD system, ensuring natural and comfortable breathing at any depth while providing the necessary amount of air based on the diver's demand. The regulator's breathing comfort is adjustable with an easy-to-use knob, allowing divers to personalise their breathing experience, even when wearing thick gloves. The large and pivoting purge button enhances ease of use and immediate response.

The regulator's PVD technology (Physical Vapour Deposition) creates a thin metal film over various substrates, resulting in an innovative and technically advanced product. This PVD coating enhances the durability and aesthetics of the regulator. Pneumatic balancing further enhances the performance and ease of breathing of the second stage.

Specifications:

 1st Stage: 2nd Stage:
  • Balanced membrane first stage
  • 360° rotating turret with 5 low pressure (LP) ports (4 radial, and 1 vertical)
  • Dynamic Flow Control (DFC), for elevated and consistent airflow at all depths
  • Auto Sealing Technology (AST) system, providing excellent protection against intrusion of water or unwanted matter. A very simple mechanical solution keeps the internal mechanism dry and free of obstruction, consequently providing superior reliability.
  • The VAD system exploits the Venturi effect by conveying 90% of the air in to a side bypass. The airflow passes through it without encountering any levers and/or mechanisms, ensuring maximum performance even in extreme situations, such as diving in cold water.
  • The Twin Power System allows the VAD system's air flow to be controlled, ensuring natural breathing at any depth and providing the necessary amount of air in relation to the diver's demand.
  • PVD technology has been used to create this regulator. PVD is an acronym for Physical Vapour Deposition and indicates a technology used to deposit a thin metal film over various types of substrates.
  • Pneumatic balancing

Care Instructions:

  • Rinse in freshwater after every use to remove silt and sand
  • Keep stored away in a safe place
  • Keep in a regulator bag
  • Have serviced each year
  • Keep dust cap on first stage when not on a tank
  • Do not pick up by first stage when connected to the tank
