O'Hunter Phantom GP2 and Ambush Fin Pack

The O'Hunter Phantom GP2 and Ambush Fin Pack is a great entry level spearfishing software pack that will allow you to get the correct gear at a fantastic price. It consists of the Ocean Hunter Phantom GP2 mask, Phantom Snorkel and Ambush fins.

The O'Hunter Phantom GP2 Mask is a brand new style of spearfishing mask that has hit our store with a big splash. This extremely low volume mask  has 100% black silicone with tempered anti reflection lenses. It can be used for scuba diving, snorkeling, spearfishing or freediving and fits majority of faces. There is a go-pro mounting point on the top of the frame to secure your camera so you dont miss out on any footage. The buckles are extremely easy and make it quick to adjust the silicone strap.  Being low volume means that there is less air inside the mask when being worn. When heading underwater, you need to equalize, this means you need to equalize the air inside your mask to prevent for mask squeeze. The black silicone is generally used by spearfishermen however many divers do like the black silicone, it really is a personal preference. Black silicone tunnels your vision so spearfishermen prefer this as they do not want to get distracted by anything else but focus on the fish they are about to shoot.

How to look after your mask:  All of our masks here at Dive Warehouse are made from 100% silicone with tempered glass. When a mask is made, it gets a thin layer of silicone on the inside of the glass. This is what causes it to fog. Anti-fog's will not work until it has been pre-cleaned, as to work it needs to reach the glass and with the silicone layer covering this, it cant work. To remove this layer of silicone, you will need to purchase a pre-cleaner or you can use toothpaste. These products have a slight abrasive in it and will scrub off that silicone layer. A blob of paste on to each lenses on the inside only, give it a good scrub and rinse off with fresh water. Repeat this process 3 times to ensure you have scrubbed off all of the silicone layer, then you can anti-fog. The glass will not get scratched as it is tempered. You can purchase a good quality anti-fog here at Dive Warehouse, or you can spit or lick the inside of the lens as spit is a natural anti-fog! After you have cleaned your mask and are no longer fogging, you will need to wash your gear after every use to prevent it from perishing. The best way to clean you mask and snorkel is to put them in a tub of fresh warm water and give them a good rinse. this will take off all of the salt and sand that you get from the ocean. Store them away in a dark dry place to prevent the silicone from turning an off color. The sun will do this if you store them in direct sunlight.

The O'Hunter Phantom Snorkel is made with 100% silicone and is a J valve style. Perfect for spearfishing or freediving as it is very streamline however it can also be used for snorkeling. The semi flex barrel allows it to give the most comfort and flexibility yet be strudy enough.  It comes with a sliding snorkel keeper that you use to connect it to your mask of choice. When spearfishing, it is preferred to not have a purge valve on the snorkel to prevent drag, this is why the OceanHunter Phantom snorkel is perfect for spearfishing and freediving.

The O'Hunter Ambush Fins are designed for spearfishing and freediving. Being tapered allows power and thrust to maximize your depths and speed. Due to being on breath hold, spear fishing and freedivers need all the power they can get to allow them go deeper quicker without using up too much air and effort. Imagine if you were using a short blade fin, you would be kicking twice as often and using up twice as much air and effort. The Ocean Hunter Ambush fins allow you to use minimal effort, there fore giving you a better chance to catch that fish or to get to that depth you've been aiming for. They have replaceable blades so you are able to swap them out for carbon or fibreglass blades. They also have a unique fish scale like design that allows you to blend in to the enviroment more so than a black fin.  Due to being on breath hold, spear fishing and freedivers need all the power they can get to allow them go deeper quicker without using up too much air and effort. The foot pockets are made from a soft rubber allowing you to be comfortable in the water even after hours of use. Many divers will choose to wear a neoprene sock inside of the fin. There are a few reasons for this, first is to prevent any rubbing or blisters that could possibly occur. Second is for warmth, after being in the water for a couple of hours, you will start to get cold, its inevitable, the neoprene socks will prevent this so you can enjoy your diving for longer. Last but not least is for protection, when walking from your car to the water entry point, many divers go off of rocks and to walk over these bare foot can be dangerous. A neoprene sock with grip will prevent you from slipping or getting cut.
