Cressi Nano HD, Modular and Comanche Pack

The Cressi Nano HD, Modular and Comanche Pack is a spearfishing starter pack that has the basic items that you will need to get in the water and start hunting. It consists of the Cressi Nano HD mirrored mask, Corsica snorkel, Modular fins and the Comanche Pacific Speargun.

The Cressi Nano HD Mirrored Lens Mask is a step ahead of the rest. The new High Defination lens is something that is relatively new in the spearfishing mask world and is proving to be a great seller. This HD lens increases your vision's clearness by 15% and you can really tell the difference when diving. It is brighter, clearer and helps you focus on fish better, a big advantage when your trying to shot them. The mirror lens hides your eyes and this is great when hunting. Generally fish can get spooked by your eyes so if they can not see you but their reflection, they will  be more inclined to come in for a closer look with curiosity. The black silicone is generally used by spearfishermen however many Scuba divers do like it too, it really is a personal preference. Being low volume means that there is less air inside the mask when being worn. When heading underwater, you need to equalize, this means you need to equalize the air inside your mask to prevent for mask squeeze. When scuba diving, this is easier as we have spare air to use from our tanks, however when spearfishing, you are on breathe hold so you need less air in your mask so you don't use up too much breathe equalizing. This is why the spearfishing masks are low volume. Made with 100% high grade silicone, you can be assured that this mask will be comfortable after hours of diving. The swiveling buckle system allows you to get the best fit possible without pulling in a awkward direction.

How to look after your mask:  All of our masks here at Dive Warehouse are made from 100% silicone with tempered glass. When a mask is made, it gets a thin layer of silicone on the inside of the glass. This is what causes it to fog. Anti-fog's will not work until it has been pre-cleaned, as to work it needs to reach the glass and with the silicone layer covering this, it cant work. To remove this layer of silicone, you will need to purchase a pre-cleaner or you can use toothpaste. These products have a slight abrasive in it and will scrub off that silicone layer. A blob of paste on to each lenses on the inside only, give it a good scrub and rinse off with fresh water. Repeat this process 3 times to ensure you have scrubbed off all of the silicone layer, then you can anti-fog. The glass will not get scratched as it is tempered. You can purchase a good quality anti-fog here at Dive Warehouse, or you can spit or lick the inside of the lens as spit is a natural anti-fog! After you have cleaned your mask and are no longer fogging, you will need to wash your gear after every use to prevent it from perishing. The best way to clean you mask and snorkel is to put them in a tub of fresh warm water and give them a good rinse. this will take off all of the salt and sand that you get from the ocean.

The Cressi Corsica Snorkel is a spearfishing specific snorkel due to it being lightweight and streamline in the water. The mouthpiece is made from 100% silicone to give you maximum comfort and the barrel is a soft PU which can be folded up. The wide snorkel opening offers excellent ease of breathing so you will never feel short of breath. It comes with a sliding snorkel keeper that you use to connect it to your mask of choice. When spearfishing, it is preferred to not have a purge valve on the snorkel to prevent drag, this is why the Cressi Corsica snorkel is perfect for spearfishing.

The Cressi Gara Modular Fins are designed for spearfishing and freediving. The length of this particular fin is from 87cm - 95, depending on the size and the blade is a regular stiffness. This means that it is perfect for wearing all day long in the water diving and will not be too harsh on your legs. The foot pocket is an advanced design that has softer rubber on the sides to allow self adjusting with wider feet. There is nothing worse than your fin foot pocket being too tight and giving you cramps. The Cressi Modular fin will prevent this from happening. The blades are inter changeable which means that you can swap them over, to upgrade or just replace the originals. Many freedivers will use carbon or fiberglass as they are more gentle on your legs, however they are also more delicate so you need to be careful with them. Available in a wide range of sizes from 38-39 - 46-47.

You can also wear a neoprene sock in side the fin to prevent blisters and to give you more protection when walking to and from the water. We carry the Ocean Hunter 1.5mm Ultra Stretch Socks here at Dive Warehouse.

The Cressi Comanche Pacific Speargun is a great all rounder gun that is top quality at an affordable price. It comes standard with a 18mm rubber which gives you plenty of power, roughly the equivalent to twin 16mm rubbers. The open muzzle allows for a quick and easy loading of the spear and minimizes noise when in the water. Closed muzzles can tend to have a bit of a rattle and can in fact spook fish sometimes, the open muzzle does not do this. Sitting on top of the barrel is a shaft guide which helps guide the shaft out in a straight line to give better accuracy. However a spear gun is only as accurate as the user! The 7mm finned shaft is strong and reliable and can handle the bigger fish. The Cressi Comanche Pacific Speargun comes with a loading butt which can definitely help stop the gun from slipping out when loading in on your thigh or chest. The Cressi Comanche Pacific is available in 4 barrel lengths from 90cm to 120cm to suit all styles and needs of every diver.

Extras:  When purchasing a speargun, there are a few extras that we recommend you purchase to complete you kit. A float rope and divers float are the 2 main extras. The rope is connected to the gun at handle and the other end of the rope is to be connected to the float, this will ensure you will not loose your gun by accidental dropping it, or having a fish steal it! (It does happen). A pair of gloves is another item that we recommend you purchase also. Once you have shot your fish, trying to grab it and finish the kill can be very difficult without gloves. Fish are not only slippery but also have made spikes and teeth. Gloves will prevent cuts and scratches as well as grip. Here at Dive Warehouse we are loading with information regarding spearfishing, gear and tips so feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
