The Soft Backplate, designed by Mares, is specifically crafted to accommodate a single light tank while offering a true technical diver experience. It embodies the Hogartian XR style, providing divers with exceptional functionality and comfort.
This backplate is constructed from durable 1200D ballistic nylon, ensuring long-lasting performance. Despite its robustness, it remains remarkably lightweight, minimising the diver's burden during underwater exploration. The backplate features comfortable padding made from water-draining polypropylene, which includes four slots for enhanced breathability and efficient water drainage. To ensure secure attachment, the Soft Backplate offers two upper and two lower slots, allowing direct connection of the straps to the cylinder. The five sliding tri-glides enable easy adjustment and customisation of the harness and crotch strap/undercarriage for a personalised fit.
For versatility and adaptability, the backplate includes two center holes on the top and two on the bottom, offering a wide range of height adjustments to accommodate different bags. Additionally, there are strategically positioned holes along the sides and bottom, allowing the mounting of accessories, particularly useful for side mount configurations. The Soft Backplate is equipped with four D-rings, providing additional attachment points for gear organisation. Its highly technical shaping ensures unprecedented versatility, catering to various diving requirements.
